The hero of FFXII is Vaan, a 17-year old boy from Dalmasca whose family was killed during the Arcadian invasion. He wishes is to escape Dalmasca and become an air pirate.
The girl 19 yr old, Ashe, is also a victim of the Arcadia Empire. The dethroned princess of Dalmasca, Ashe is the only proper heir to the kingdom. Presumed missing, she's secretly leading an underground resistance against the Arcadians. Unlike Vaan, Ashe's loss has made her bitter and vengeful. Eventually, their paths cross and they go on a grand adventure in their war-torn world.

Now the story can be told...

That is the story of a world called Ivalice.
The strong military kingdom known as the Arcadia Empire that rules the Valentia Continent,
And the Rosalia Empire that rules the Ordalia Continent have been continuously at war for long years.

In the midst of it, Arcadia Empire invaded the small kingdom of Dalmasca, Positioned in the hallway between the two continents and thus is geopolitically important.

But Ashe, the rightful heir to the trone of Dalmasca,

Posted by eradinn on 13 Apr 2007 | 0 comments With the possibility of a demo looming on the horizon, any news regarding Final Fantasy XIII is big news. And according to a GamePro scan, we have a new plot detail, plus a supposed "confirmation" on two upcoming FF projects.

The following is a quote from the scan:

"In the story, an exile from the floating kingdom of Cocoon, who has been banished to the lower world, finds herself caught up in a plot to take the sky domain down."

We believe they're referring to Lightning - pictured here (first) - who appears to be the main character in Final Fantasy XIII. It seems another female will be taking a leading role in a FF installment; even though Vaan was technically the lead in Final Fantasy XII, Ashe played the more central role. And we're certainly liking this idea of a world of floating cities and domains.

Lastly, the scan reveals that both Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII will be released in 2008, but we have no exact date, and we can't be sure if that's an official confirmation. Perhaps Square-Enix will be prepared to release more info once the article is published.
